Information on who is eligible for free or discounted entry to the Catacombs of Paris.

The Catacombs of Paris offer free and reduced-price admission to several categories of visitors. Please note that proof of eligibility is required upon entry. For accessibility-related concessions, please see our accessibility page.

Eligibility for Free & Reduced Entry

Free Entry

Children under 8 years old.
Disabled visitors and one companion: Upon presentation of a valid disability card.
ICOM / ICOMOS card holders.

Reduced Rate (€25)

Young people aged 18 to 26 years old. Valid ID required.

Please note that unlike many other Parisian museums, there is no general free admission for EU citizens under 26, only the reduced rate.

How to Claim

For paid tickets (Reduced and Child 8-17): You can book these tickets online through our platform. Simply select the correct ticket type during checkout and be prepared to show your valid ID upon entry.

For free tickets: Visitors who qualify for free admission (children under 8, disabled visitors and their companion, ICOM holders) must collect their ticket directly from the ticket desk at the Catacombs on the day of their visit. These tickets cannot be booked online in advance. Be aware that this may involve waiting in a queue.

All visitors, regardless of ticket type, must have a timed-entry ticket to enter.

Do I need to book a ticket for my 5-year-old child?

Yes, even though entry is free for children under 8, you must obtain a free timed-entry ticket for them from the ticket desk on site.

I am a student from the US, do I get a discount?

If you are aged between 18 and 26, you are eligible for the reduced rate of €25. There is no specific student discount beyond this age bracket.

Are there any free admission days for the general public?

Unlike some other museums in Paris, the Catacombs do not offer a free admission day (like the first Sunday of the month).
